Channel 4 News has interviewed Alex de Waal who produced a report, Starving Tigray, How Armed Conflict and Mass Atrocities Have Destroyed an Ethiopian Region’s Economy and Food System and Are Threatening Famine for the World Peace Foundation.
He is concerned that history is repeating itself in Ethiopia where famine ravaged the country in the 1980s.
De Waal has urged the Eritrean government to de-escalate the conflict in Tigray and for the international community to intervene.
