Covid-19 demonstrates the dangers of a fragmented global food system, says United Nations Committee on Food Security Secretary Chris Hegadorn, in Devex.
The Committee on Food Security (CFS), is responsible for developing global policy and guidance on food security and nutrition. Better unifying food systems is the goal and the Covid-19 pandemic has made this work even more timely.
“There’s a widespread recognition that action has to be taken,” Hegadorn said.
“What makes CFS unique is it’s the only platform of its type in the UN that captures all the players in the same process outside a convention or a treaty.”
