A Financial Times feature on healthy soil refers to the new Netflix documentary, Kiss the Ground, released in September, fronted by supermodel Gisele Bündchen and actors Woody Harrelson, Ian Somerhalder and Patricia Arquette.

The underlying sentiment — that nature holds all the solutions to our problems — is similar to that behind rewilding, and as that continues to capture something of our collective cultural imagination, so soil seems to as well.

“It feels like soil has a growing fan club outside farmers and soil scientists,” says Josiah Meldrum of Hodmedod, a Norfolk-based outfit that promotes more sustainable crop rotations, which play a huge role in keeping soil healthy.
